AmazonBasics Portable Wireless Bluetooth Speaker Review

AmazonBasics Portable Wireless Bluetooth Speaker Review

AmazonBasics has earned a solid reputation for offering good products without any reduction in quality or performance. One of their more popular releases is their Bluetooth speaker, and the question that’s probably on your mind is how it compares to better-known brands. Well, we wanted to find out too, which is why we did this review.

Features of the AmazonBasics Portable Wireless Bluetooth Speaker

  • The AmazonBasics is wireless, so it is easier to set up than a wired speaker.
  • The wireless range is 33 feet, so the sound quality remains good from a distance.
  • The speaker is equipped with a microphone for hands-free calling.
  • With its rechargeable battery, you can expect up to 8 hours of use when fully charged.
  • The AmazonBasics speaker is compact and portable so you’ll be able to bring this anywhere you are.
  • A 3.5 mm aux in jack is included. With this you’ll be able to link up to devices which are not Bluetooth (aux cable is not included).
  • The AmazonBasics comes with 2.5-watt speakers which have been designed for minimum distortion and rich, full sounds.
  • The speaker is also built with an emphasis on versatility: once set up you’ll be able to listen to music comfortably.

  • Durable construction.
  • Easy to use.
  • Excellent audio.

  • Charging is a bit slow.

When it comes to performance, the AmazonBasics does not disappoint. The first thing we can say is that it is very easy to use. Set it up and you’ll be able to listen to music indoors, outdoors, on the beach, camping, the yard, parties, traveling, and so on. Like any good Bluetooth speaker, the unit is portable but still packs a lot of power.

The speaker sounds great too. The bass is rich and deep, and the highs are very clear and crisp. Vocals and instruments come out clear, and even at high levels the audio doesn’t break up or get distorted.

The audio is not only clear but it has good range too, around 33 feet. As a cordless speaker, it provides greater flexibility.

With other speakers the results are inconsistent, but with AmazonBasics the streaming quality is very good. The audio quality remains consistent whether it is music, podcasts, or other types of audio content. Thanks to the high-quality audio, the sound comes out crisp and without any problems.

For the best results, you’ll want to charge the speaker to the maximum level. Charging takes a bit of time, but that’s not a big issue. A full charge is good for up to 8 hours, so you won’t be needing to charge this again anytime soon.

One of the reasons why this speaker works so well is its use of the latest Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR technology. Because of this, the AmazonBasics pairs very well with tablets, speakers, laptops, and other devices that are Bluetooth V2.1 and over compatible.

As long as the device is compatible with Bluetooth, it’s going to run fine on this device. If you have a device that isn’t Bluetooth ready, you can connect it with the 3.5 mm aux in jack. The speaker does not come with an aux cable but it’s easy to buy one.

By and large, the AmazonBasics provides excellent performance. It does not have the fancy features of other speakers, but when it comes to reliability, this is one speaker that gets it done. We also like the fact that it has a long life. A full charge is good for 8 hours even if the volume is at 70%, and that says a lot about its quality.

AmazonBasics products are known for ease of use and this is no exception. Installing the speaker and configuring for your Echo Dot is straightforward and should not take more than a few minutes.

After the speaker is set up you can listen to podcasts and music. The fact that it’s wireless makes it more convenient to use, as you’re no longer confined by cable. And because it is certified for the Echo Dot you’ll get optimum results.

As noted earlier, the speakers provide excellent audio, and it’s easy to adjust the volume as well. We also like the 3.5 mm aux in jack because it makes connecting much easier. While the Echo Dot works best with Bluetooth devices, this jack gives you the opportunity to use non-Bluetooth devices without difficulty.

There is an emphasis on usability, yes, but it still provides a good deal of flexibility. Even if you have never used a speaker like this, the installation won’t take long.

If you’re looking for the best value Bluetooth speaker for your Echo Dot, the AmazonBasics is a good option. It is not as fancy as other Echo Dot speakers but as far the audio quality is concerned, the AmazonBasics speaker is well-made, dependable, and durable, and is definitely worth a thumbs up.
