Who said office work had to be dull or silent?
Nearly 80% of workers work more effectively while listening to music, according to an academic survey.
But listening to music with headphones on can be antisocial, not to mention pretty awkward if you miss the boss calling you. That’s where wireless speakers come in.
Here are some of the best wireless speakers for the office to help you and your colleagues work better.
AmazonBasics Bluetooth Speaker
There are some types of Bluetooth speakers that are expensive, but equally, there are budget options that would work well in an office environment. Amazon’s budget Bluetooth speaker, from their AmazonBasics line, would be a good option.
It comes with a portable battery with approximately 8 hours of battery life, so you don’t need an outlet. It’s small and lightweight, and you can connect it to other Amazon products like the Amazon Echo.
If you do have an Echo, you can use it for more than just music playing. Here are 7 other ways you could use an Amazon Echo in an office environment.
Bang & Olufsen Beolit 15 Portable Bluetooth Speaker
Do you need a speaker that everyone in the office can hear? Go for a Bang and Olufsen Beolit 15.
B&O is renowned for the quality of their audio products, and that’s exactly what you’ll find in the Beolit 15. It’s expensive (around $400), but the audio is crisp, warm and doesn’t seem booming, even when the volume’s turned up to 11.
It has a pleasing aesthetic, in a silver and copper casing that looks just as premium as its price tag. It’s Bluetooth, but it does have a 3.5mm aux input for any older mp3 players.
Bose Soundlink Mini II
A little wireless speaker can have a lot of power, and that’s exactly why the Bose Soundlink Mini II provides.
It’s small enough to transport around with you, but it’s equally at home on your desk without taking up space. You won’t find many speakers that can go as small as the Soundlink Mini II without sacrificing quality, so if you’re looking for portability, this is as good as it gets.
It’s battery powered but comes with a docking station for charging, and you can even charge with a typical micro-USB cellphone charger.
It also comes with an aux connection, but it’s primarily a Bluetooth speaker, so you won’t struggle to set it up.
Simple and cheap, the Anker SoundCore is perfect for the office. At around $50, you really aren’t paying for premium with this speaker, but that doesn’t mean it’s not worth considering.
The design is minimalistic, but certainly not lacking in aesthetics, made with a mix of black plastic and a fabric speaker grill. With Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity and a solid range of 40 to 60 feet, it should work well even in a large office.
It’s battery powered with a rated 24-hour battery life but your mileage may vary. As for sound quality, it’s a solid performer, but don’t expect B&O quality.
We reckon the Anker Soundcore is a great little speaker for both office and personal use without breaking the bank. Check out our Anker Soundcore review for a more detailed rundown.
